My Story

My Story

I grew up in a small country town in North-West Victoria. Playing and competing in sport was a way of life in rural Victoria. I played and competed in tennis, basketball, netball and athletics. My first job, at 13 years of age was working as a tennis coach at our local tennis club. I became a competitive junior tennis player, competing in state and national championships.

I was also very studious and sensible. Choosing a career path was difficult, I was passionate about health and wellness but also loved Legal Studies at school. I eventually made the choice and was accepted into an Arts/Law degree at Deakin University. Life at university was a roller coaster ride.

Half way through my Law degree, I had to deal with the devastating news that my brother, aged 23 years, had died in a tragic accident. I was struggling to comprehend how one day he was there and the next he was gone. My brother was the life of the party, the one who broke all the rules, didn’t like school and never took life too seriously.

I was the sensible one, the high achiever, the perfectionist and the conscientious law student. Throughout school and University I put so much pressure on myself to be perfect. However, this often left me feeling stressed, run down and burnt out. After losing my brother, my perspective on life completely changed.

“Life is too short.  Stress less.  Live life to the fullest”

I finished my Arts/Law degree with Honours and starting working as a lawyer in the public sector. After a couple of years, I decided to have a break, travel the world and play competitive beach tennis.  I played tournaments in Mauritius and represented Australia at the Beach Tennis World Championships in Italy.

Although I was living a glamorous, carefree lifestyle, playing beach tennis and travelling the world, I realised this was not going to pay the bills. I returned to London and started working at a law firm in Wimbledon.

After two years in London, it was time to return back home to Australia. I was extremely fortunate to be offered a role at a leading independent Australian law firm.

Throughout my work in the legal industry, I have witnessed many people around me struggle with mental ill-health and chronic disease.

It made me realise it was time to pivot my career and help those I care about. Whilst raising two young children and working as a lawyer, I studied to become a nutrition health coach and fitness professional. I am now on a journey to inspire lawyers and busy professionals to make positive lifestyle changes that will help them feel happier, healthier and more motivated.

During downtime I love meditating, walking, cycling, enjoying Melbourne cafés and spending quality time with my beautiful family and friends.
